Domesticity Shrinks the Soul of the Beast, So go Sailing Away I Did

Even though I never once got to shoot a cannon at another boat or have a duel with Johnny Depp, I still had a pretty alright time sailing. I guess I will have to become a pirate on my own time. Watching a pod of 7 orcas mercilessly kill a seal for a meal over a 90 minute period was an acceptable consolation prize.

To drop the sassy tude for a second, I walked away from Northern Light better off than before. It is a rewarding moment to feel a phase in a life that was already going pretty well got even a bit better. Being isolated on a sailboat under the tutelage of Deborah and Rolf can be quite a character building experience. As much as a person does or does not want it to be I think will determine just how much character is built.

I will give all the juicy sailing details once I am back in La Paz and settled. Just wanted to drop a line that Eli and I survived. Surviving the total 100 hours spent transporting ourselves on buses was perhaps the more impressive survival feat.
